Claritas is designed to keep your focus information private. Your blocked websites, timers, schedules, study journal, points, and analytics are stored locally in Chrome on your device.

Information Claritas handles

Claritas reads website addresses so it can recognize sites you choose to block or limit. It stores your preferences and locally generated focus history using Chrome's extension storage.

If you explicitly enable website suggestions, Claritas locally counts visits by domain name so it can suggest a daily limit. This feature is off by default, never reads page contents, and does not transmit the counts.

Optional Claritas account

If you create an account, Firebase Authentication processes your email address and login credentials. Passwords are handled by Firebase and are never visible to or stored in plain text by Claritas. If you choose Continue with Google, Google provides Firebase with basic account details such as your email address and profile image.

Your extension settings, blocked-site choices, timers, and focus history remain stored locally in Chrome and are not synced to your account.

Information Claritas does not collect

Claritas does not sell personal information, create advertising profiles, read page contents, or send your focus history to the developer or third parties.

Permissions

• Website access is used to block or limit domains selected by you.
• Storage keeps your settings and progress on your device.
• Alarms power timers, schedules, and reminders.
• Notifications announce completed sessions and optional break reminders.

Data removal

You can clear Claritas data through Chrome's extension settings or by uninstalling the extension.

Backups

Claritas exports data only when you press the export button. The resulting backup file remains under your control and is not uploaded by Claritas.
